The amount of links refers only to the usage of PRINZ – guidance bars (Blades) and can differentiate when using other brands or makes. With the hand held chain saws other chain pitches may also be used. When removing used up chain links, note that during usage it has gotten longer (about 2-4 links). Carbide tipped chains are subject to different wear and tear depending upon the material that was used.

It is therefore nearly impossible to give an exact cutting capacity per chain. The company Prinz continually runs checks for quality assurance. Worn out driving gears (sprockets) and guidance bars need to be exchanged, because otherwise the driving links of the chain will be damaged and the chain will be unusable.
